Is ordering from your site secure?

Yes! We offer the most secure payment processing method available online. Our methods are the same ones used by companies such as Staples, Amazon, Best Buy, etc. We use Secure Socket Layers (SSL), the industry standard in transferring information to process your orders. The SSL encrypts, or translates, your order information into a highly indecipherable code, which is processed immediately. You can rest assure that ordering from our website will not result in any fraudulent activity on your credit card.


Is it legal for you to sell poppies?

PoppyStore.com only sells ornamental dried poppy pods that are supplied by commercial growers and wholesalers. There are many specie and sub specie of poppies. There are also cross bred (hybrid) poppies. Our primary supplier harvests a cross bred poppy hybridized from the Setigerum species, which is ideal for ornamental use as the appearance, shape, color and size of their poppy is far superior to a dried Papaver Somniferum pod.

PoppyStore.com does not knowingly sell poppies of the Papaver Somniferum species and sells its dried poppy pods for use in floral decorating and design (ornamental) purposes only. We make no warranty concerning the fitness or merchantability of any of our products for non-ornamental use or misuse of any kind. We will not answer questions regarding non-ornamental use of poppies. Ordering from our website constitutes agreement with and acceptance of these terms and conditions and releases PoppyStore.com from any and all liability. If your intent is to purchase poppies for "non-ornamental" use, please DO NOT purchase from PoppyStore.com. We do not know what is contained in our grower's cross bred poppy pods and its non-ornmental misuse may be dangerous.


How can I tell if a pod is moldy? Our grower is very careful about removing any moldy pods from their bundles and we've had minimal problems with mold. A moldy pod is pale green or beige in color and will crumble very easily when handled. Please note that dark brow or black spots are not mold. The best way to tell if a pod is moldy is to give it a good squeeze. If it crumbles easily, we will be happy to replace those at our cost.

What payment methods do you accept?

The Poppy Store proudly accepts payment by Visa and Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. Upon check out on our shopping cart you will be given these choices.


What will it say on my credit card statement? The charge for your order will show up on your credit card statement as "PSC Distribution". All charges are in US Dollars.

Do you accept orders by fax or e-mail? If so, how?

To protect your credit card information we prefer not to receive orders through e-mail or fax. Sorry for any inconvenience.


My credit card doesn't seem to work when I place an order. What now?

Occasionally some of our customers have difficulty purchasing through our secure gateway service. If you encounter difficulties, follow these steps:

  1. Address - It is important for the address on your credit card statement and the address entered for purchasing on our website to match. Please check your credit card statement for an exact match, and re-enter your address.
  2. Try another credit card - It is possible that the credit card you are using has online purchasing restrictions or the available credit is insufficient. 
  3. Card Verification (CVV) Number incorrect - If you do not enter the 3 digit CVV number, your credit card will not register. The CVV number is the last 3-digits printed on the back of your card. It appears after and to the right of your card number. For American Express, the CVV is a 4 digit number appearing on the front right side directly above the last few digits of your card number. If your credit card does not have this verification number, please try using a different card.

Do you accept checks or money orders? What about COD's?

No. We apologize but we only accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Checks, money orders and COD's are too risky and have a high potential for fraud.


Why do I need to provide an e-mail address? If you do not provide us with a valid email address, we will not be able to send you your order confirmation and tracking number. Having an email address also provides us with another way to communicate with our customers. Customers who do not have an email address are encouraged to set one up with any of the free Internet email services (ie. Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.). We will accept your order by telephone if you do not provide a valid email address, however, The Poppy Store can not guarantee the accuracy of your order.

Why do I need to provide my telephone number?

By providing your telephone number FedEx will be able to contact you if they are having problems delivering your package. If they can not contact you while they are attempting to deliver your package, it will be returned to their depot and held until further notice. Also, if an incorrect email address is entered, there would be no other way to contact you unless a valid telephone number is provided. PoppyStore.com has a strict policy to not release customer information to any third party except for the fulfillment of your order.


Is my information kept confidential? Yes! The Poppy Store has a strict policy to only use your information for the purpose of fulfilling your order. Neither your name nor anything about you is sold or shared with any other non-affiliated company or agency.

What if I want to return my order?

CLICK HERE to view our Money Back Guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your order, you may return it for a full refund within 90 days of ordering, less shipping charges. Ensure you keep the original packing slip and follow the return instructions that are included with every order.


Do you offer discounts or wholesale pricing on large orders?

Yes. If you are interested in large orders (10 or more cases of any size) please email operations@poppystore.com and our operations manager will provide you with a bulk discount price. For case orders less than 10, our online system automatically calculates the discount based on quantity.



When does my order get shipped?

Orders are shipped the same day if received before 2 PM (noon) Eastern Standard Time (EST) Monday through Friday. Though rare, such as on a Monday or Tuesday after a long weekend, it may take an extra day to get your package out but it is our goal to make sure you get your pods as soon as possible. We guarantee to get your "in stock" order out our door within 48 hrs or shipping will be on us! Please note that our warehouse is closed on Saturday, Sunday and most statutory holidays.


How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Shipments from our US warehouse ship through FedEx (see below regarding risk using USPS). We offer the following options:

  1. Ground Commercial - 1 to 6 business days to most cities in the US (Commercial addresses only)
  2. FedEx Home Delivery - 1 to 6 days to most cities in the US (Residential addresses only)
  3. FedEx 2nd Day - 2 business day to most cities  in the US
  4. FedEx Standard Overnight - by 5:00pm the next business day to most cities in the US 
  5. First-Class Mail - 7 to 10 "Business" days (estimate only)

In stock orders placed before 2:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday will ship the same day. Orders placed after 2:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, or on Saturday or Sunday will ship the next business day.

*Free shipping is often through USPS First-Class Mail. Delivery estimates are between 7 - 10 "Business" days.

The map below shows GROUND delivery times from our OHIO warehouse to all points in the continental US. GROUND is the most cost effective guaranteed shipping method. FedEx Home Delivery is the equivalent to Ground but for residential addresses only.

Please note that our warehouse is closed on weekends and all statutory holidays, therefore any order that's placed on Friday after the 2 PM EST shipping cutoff will not ship until the next business day.

Shipping can be expensive. How are shipping charges determined?

We wish shipping was based solely on weight, but unfortunately, nearly all freight companies will charge "dimensional weight" on our packages. Because our packages tend to be fairly light but large and bulky, freight companies need to charge extra to ship them. For example, FedEx deems our average package to be equivalent to a 20 pound package eventhough it may weigh only 8 pounds simply because of the dimensions of the box. FedEx also base their charges on the destination. There is a marginal increase in shipping cost the further away you are from our shipping location.

HINT: The best value in shipping is either GROUND or Home Delivery. Over 60% of all US destinations are reached within 1 - 3 days via GROUND.


Do you ship to countries outside of North America?

Sorry, no. Because our product is "agricultural" many countries do not allow easy import. Shipping abroad can be very costly and be outright refused by customs in many countries, therefore we do not ship outside of the United States.
